*In an era surrounded by MS Word, e mails, whatsapp\nand messenger, where everything is written on smartphones or laptops, you are\nprobably going to do something different if you are planning to take IELTS in\nthe near future. Different from other language tests like TOEFL, PTE etc. ,\nIELTS still carries the test in pen paper format. The candidate is required to\nwrite answers of both Reading & Listening sections and writing section 1\nand 2 with pencil only. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Any piece of writing seems good to read or check if\nthe handwriting is legible and the writing part of IELTS is no different.\nHence, a good or a poor handwriting directly influences the score of the\ncandidate in Reading, Listening and Writing module of the IELTS. The answers\nare checked manually and it depends a lot on the examiner if he or she likes\nthe handwriting of the candidate or not because it will influence his or her\nfinal score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s take an\nexample from reading section. In the True, False and Not Given questions, if an\nanswer which is written as True using the symbol \u2018T\u2019 by you, somehow reads \u2018F\u2019\nwhich denoted false, you lose one mark despite being correct. Similarly,\nspellings which might seem wrong because you didn\u2019t write an \u2018e\u2019 or an \u2018a\u2019 in\nthe right way, would surely cost you one mark. The same goes for listening\nsection also.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moving on to writing\nsection which involves major part of writing, don\u2019t focus on adopting a\nparticular way of writing. Some people focus on changing their writing style in\norder to make it look better. IELTS never marks an individual on the basis of\nits handwriting. Whatever is written should be well understood by the examiner.\nHence, the need is to work on the writing which is not legible and might change\nthe meaning of the whole sentence if interpreted wrongly by the examiner.\nChanging the style of writing at this point would never be a wise decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
