GMAT (Graduate Management admissions test):

Structure of the Test:

GMAT(Graduate management admissions test):

It is divided into 4 sections, namely

Analytical writing assessment(1 essay in 30 minutes)

Integrated reasoning                 (12 questions in 30 minutes)

Quantitative section                   (37 questions in 75 minutes)

Verbal section                              (41 questions in 75 minutes)

Verbal and Quantitative section have Multiple choice questions and at the start of these 2 sections, the candidate is presented with a question(Difficulty level-average) with each correct response the difficulty level of the question gets higher, however, if the Candidate answers the question wrong, the difficulty level of the question decreases.

After completing each section, A raw score is awarded to the candidate in each section.

GRE(Graduate record examinations):

It is divided into 6 sections namely

Analytical writing section  (2 tasks and 30 minutes per task)

2 sections of verbal reasoning  (20 questions and 30 minutes-per section)

2 sections of quantitative reasoning (20 questions and 35 minutes-per section)

An experimental or Research section(Number of questions and time varies): The score in this section does not affect the candidate’s overall score.

Scoring of the test:

GMAT: GMAT is scored on a scale of 200-800.

GRE: It is scored on a scale of 130-170 for each section and on a scale from 1-6 for the section of analytical writing assessment.

Fees

GMAT:$250

GRE: Students pay $205 to take the GRE general test, except in China where the fee is $220.70.

GMAT:

There are 26 cities in India where you can take your GMAT test. These cities include

GRE: The test is offered at the following locations in India;

Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Gandhinagar, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Navarangpura, New-Delhi, Nizamabad, Noida, Patna, Pune, Trivandrum, Vadodara, Vijayawada and Warangal.

The scores for both the tests are valid for 5 years.
